1. Avoid using paper, plastic or styrofoam cups

If you are on a rush, it is understandable for you to reach out to the convenience store to get yourself a cup of fast and cheap instant coffee. Little do you know that paper, plastic or styrofoam cups can add their own flavor to your coffee. You might not notice it at first when you drinking out of cups made of this material every single day, but over time you will start to notice that the taste of your coffee has been tampered, not only does these materials make your coffee taste bad but also release toxic ingredients into your coffee as it remains in the cup.

2. Make a habit of washing your coffee cups regularly

You may have witnessed for yourself how coffee can stain your coffee cups overtime. This is not only tampers with the cups’ visual aesthetics but also with the taste of your coffee. Coffee has residue oils that sticks to the side of your cups which lingers and will be released into future refills. To avoid this, make a habit of using hot water and soap to wash your coffee cups regularly. If you are battling with a stubborn coffee stain ring, make a concoction of small amount of vinegar with warm water and leave it in the cup for about an hour. You can then rinse out the cup and use warm soapy water to wash it all off. This will help to reduce the stain on the cup and return the flavour of your coffee in your next brew.

3. Stainless steel as the second best option

Cups or mugs made of stainless steel can be the second best option after porcelain. Stainless steel has a nonporous and heat tolerant properties that does not affect the flavour of freshly brewed coffee. However, stainless steel do require rinsing beforehand to avoid a metallic taste.

4. Porcelain is still the best coffee cups material ever

Porcelain cups like the ones made by Kopin Tableware are the top of the line for getting the perfect and best tasting coffee that you can ever imagine. Porcelain has nonporous and heat tolerant properties that help your coffee to retain heat longer, preserving its flavour at the same time.
